One ethical consideration of co-creative AI is that it can replace human partners. Instead of encouraging humans to reach out to human creators to collaborate, AI partners can fill in that role, contributing to social isolation. As far as I know, this has been largely ignored in the literature. For example, Buschek et al identified nine potential pitfalls of co-creative AI, including ethical considerations, but did not mention the social isolation aspect.
