I propose dialogue is crucial to enable a human-AI collaboration for two reasons: [[Helpful collaboration happens when there is a shared context]], an alignment of meanings. According to Bohm, [[Dialogue is the process of aligning meaning]]. Empirically it has been show that [[AI to human communication is critical for the AI to be considered a partner and not a tool]]. That is, a two way communication is required for an interaction to be considered a collaboration. Dialogue enables this two-way communication.
